This is the second part of my blog on Sabtang Island. Click link for the first part Sabtang Island, Batanes (Part 1)
After indulging our senses from the stunning view of Chamantad Rolling Hills, we proceeded to Chavayan.
Chavayan
Chavayan is home to a community of friendly people living in iconic stone houses. These houses are designed to withstand strong typhoons that frequented the islands of Batanes. These type of houses are unique to Batanes and can be found nowhere else in the country.
Chavayan also offers a majestic view of verdant hills, blue Pacific Ocean and a white-sand beach.
Nakabuang Beach
After Chavayan, we headed out to Nakabuang for lunch.
Nakabuang offers a white sand beach emblazoned with a beautiful view of a natural rock arch formation and green vegetation along the shore.
For lunch, try coconut crabs. These crawly and creepy creatures have a unique characteristics than most crabs. These crabs look like a hybrid of a crab, a lobster and a huge spider. These are believe to be endemic only to Batanes. These crabs have very strong claws that can crack open coconuts.
Biyahe na!
